Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Sometimes Jacobs Is Too Brave For His Own Good

LAS VEGAS Oscar De La Hoya is intimately aware of the challenges Daniel Jacobs could present for Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night. De La Hoya's company promoted Jacobs early in his career. "The Golden Boy" also has profound respect for the incredible perseverance Jacobs displayed by overcoming bone cancer and paralysis to become a two-time middleweight champion.

I'm sure Jacobs is more scared of the judges.

          Jacobs is great!!

Gotta love jacobs and his story is very inspiring. That being said i think canelo has more skill and power than any fighter that jacobs has been in the ring with. i think canelo is equal in power as GGG but with more skill and ring generalship.

jacobs will go out on his shield and it will be sad to see him lose as he leaves his heart in the ring!!! i hope he gets paid well and does not have to worry about money in his life and he stays healthy!!

I didn't see any over the top bravery from Jacobs when he fought GGG. But saw plenty in his post-fight comments He was practically Hercules then. Just like he is before this fight. I really like Danny, but I think he is shade below the level of GGG and Canelo. That plus the assumption that he is a few rounds behind before the bell with Canelo really makes it unlikely he'll pull it off. I'd love to be wrong about it, but its too much money invested in Canelo to let that one slide. And even that aside Canelo is an elite fighter on his own..
