Nobody in Mexico knows who tf Andy Ruiz is. He's an American from Imperial Valley. If Hearn thinks that a bunch of Mexican fans will suddenly get behind Ruiz because he's a Latino fighting for the HW title then he is badly mistaken.

Maaan, this is funny. Hearn talking out his ass regarding there being a fan following of legitimate Mexican citizens going all ride and die for the Mexican-American Andy Ruiz. But, maybe they'll have a different attitude towards a Mexican-American athlete than the one I've seen directed at your random "Joe Anybody" Mexican-Americans, (or ones named Mario040481) for 30 plus years, both here in the center of America in the state of Iowa, or during the numerous extended stays in ol' Mexico.
        Maybe things have changed.

yup, no support for plastic Pedro's, but I'll support Ruiz because he is representing Mexicali, it will be fun until it lasts.

Ruiz Jr is credible. Fast hands, power, close fight with Parker.

He is clever because he would have an audience in that aspect, just becoming another American HW champ wouldn’t sound or mean more to him.
Yeah he is Mexican...Mexican American! Who is arguing that? Like I said I understand what Eddie was trying to say but "Mexico is behind Ruiz"? no Mexicans In America will rally Behind Andy as well as others of course

How the hell can he become Mexico's First Heavyweight Champion...to be fair I understand what Eddie is trying to say though. He can become the First Mexican American World Heavyweight Champion which would still be history.

Don't remember what John Ruiz was but I'm not sure if he was exactly Mexican American but he was the first Latino Heavyweight Champion if I remember correctly

That’s not what you were trying to say here. You were basically questioning Hearn “First Mexican” thing, when the boxer himself said it in interviews three months before he fought Dimitrenko after he signed with PBC.

Of course he is American with a Mexican heritage, but if the man wants to call himself the first Mexican HW champion then that’s on him, for Hearn it’s obviously a nice promotional angle to get Mexican fans to back Ruiz... But are they talking about Mexicans in Mexico? Am sure they are referring to Mexican American just like Andy.

Anyways hope we get a good fight. That’s all...
