Comments Thread For: Prograis Leans Toward Taylor In '50-50' Fight With Baranchyk

Now that Regis Prograis has wrecked Kiryl Relikh, he can concentrate on the other World Boxing Super Series 140-pound semifinal. Prograis' sixth-round stoppage of Relikh on Saturday night moved him into the final, in which he'll battle Ivan Baranchyk or Josh Taylor. Russia's Baranchyk (19-0, 12 KOs) and Scotland's Taylor (14-0, 12 KOs) are scheduled to meet May 18 in Glasgow.

Prograis is about right - it's a close one but JT has the speed advantage for a start and Ryan Martin just couldn't get his shots off for the fear of getting blazed back over the Atlantic.

I say 70/30 for Taylor. He just has way more in his arsenal.

Ivan Baranchyk must KO Taylor to win.

I have to disagree with ' Rougarou ' Regis Prograis assessment regarding Josh Taylor vs. Ivan Baranchyk. I heavily favor Taylor to win in Glasgow by wide decision or premature stoppage, considering all the help Taylors been given by local officials in recent contest, for instance against Viktor Postol.

Or when Taylor illegally KO ' Blue-Chip ' Ryan Martin ; striking the young man behind the head.

Expect points to be taken from Ivan Baranchyk once Ivan begins to flog bumbling scrawny Taylor.

I hope that Ivan Baranchyk's handlers are fully aware of the high risk that Ivan is undertaking whilst defending the IBF Jr. Welterweight championship under the scrutiny of the likes of Ian John Lewis, Victor Loughlin or a Terry O' Connor.

ffs, you still going on about Martin bailing out of the fire? Your boy was LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT and a clip to the back/side/top of the head was just the excuse he needed. RM was getting UTTERLY BLAZED in every single round.
The truth is: You wish Taylor was one of your boys because he's so damn good and he carries himself with class outside of the ring.
            What's not to like?

            Thank you.

Ryan Martin clearly wanted out from round 1. He celebrated being hit on the back of his head as he dived towards the ropes and canvas. Postol lost to Taylor but Baranchyk needs 5 knockdowns to get a decision

Sauerland + Terry O’Connor = outrageous corruption. Seems even worse in Glasgow. Watch Zach Parker vs Darryl Williams.

The foul vs. Ryan Martin is unquestionable, Josh Taylor violated the rules of combat and the presiding official Victor Loughlin aided Taylor in ignoring Martins right to a count of ten -- blatant corruption if I ever witness it in my life!

I assure you, there is nothing that the UK has produced at Jr. Welterweight or 147 to be desired, America rules supreme. Josh Taylor's careless defense will soon be his downfall.

Lol I see tonnes of people online claiming it wasn't an illegal blow. I mean Taylor is better than Ryan Martin but the blow was illegal... It is 2019 though and facts apparently no longer exist.
