Before Garcia fought Lipinets. They agreed to fight after. There was a video on here and Garcia was complaining about the Linares-Lomachenko fight saying they had agreed. The WBC had ordered the fight in January. Probably why the Loma fight didn't have the title on the line.

Jorge Linares will fight later this month on January 27th against Mercito Gesta in defence of his WBA world lightweight title at the Forum in Inglewood,

On the other hand, Mikey Garcia (who is the WBC champion at lightweight) will challenge IBF title holder Sergey Lipinets on February 2nd in San Antonio Texas next month.

After these matches the WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has issued the following statement as part of his organisation’s January meeting:

”Both champions will fight each other immediately after their bouts.”

lol did you just ignore them ordering the fight in 2017? Mikey had a contract to fight Linares but he refused to sign it. End of story. The WBC couldn't force Garcia to fight him.

Well since Lomachenko beat Linares that got passed on to him right? So does he have the right to fight for the WBC title now? I think so, if what I'm stating is the truth. Don't be surprised if the WBC orders Campbell vs Lomachenko if Loma still has that interim belt.

I heard Hearn is already protesting against it and wants Haney vs Campbell for the vacant title? Also Zaur Abdullaev wants the WBC shot but he is not available until September I heard. So does anyone know more about this whole situation? Will Loma get a shot at the WBC title since he has that Diamond belt?
The WBO is not in the rotation (WBC, WBA, and IBF have worked to align their rules), so I believe it was Linares with the choice to make; make the defense against Mikey Garcia, or just keep the WBA belt and fight Lomachenko; Oscar was on ESPN, Arum was on ESPN, and Showtime had just made their bet on Mikey. The obvious result happened.

Well Linares was WBC lightweight champion. Then the title got vacant for some reason. Zlaticanin fought for it and lost it immediately to Mikey after winning the belt. Linares was made the WBC Diamond champion because he never really lost the title. It's a special case. He was promised a shot at the title. So I thought since Loma beat Linares was he promised the same thing by the WBC? But it appears that Linares vacated before the fight.
