You're right. Fan's poll numbers don't mean that much. The only opinions that matter are the judges. Golovkin lost his titles because two judges scored the 12th round for Alvarez. Maybe I'm wrong, but I figure a guy who loses his titles on that close a decision deserves a rematch (especially because he gave the challenger two shots at his titles).

Golovkin is by far the biggest name on Alvarez's resume.
After two controversial decisions, you'd think Canelo would welcome a chance to fight GGG again and put the doubters to rest. You have to wonder why the guy keeps putting road blocks up.
Lara, Cotto, Mosley all over 3G and anyone on 3G resume... 3G needed/needs these fights with canelo, not the other way around. Never mind canelo is already a 3 division champ across 4 divisions.

Smith (168), jacobs, andrade, charlo should be the only serious names looked at. Can see him taking a tune up though after 3G (2x) moving up then coming back for jacobs.

Fair play. I think Andrade is HIGHLY overrated, but I understand why people wanna see that fight & might think he can hang with Canelo so I won't dog that pick & hell maybe I'm the one wrong about him.

But I think thats a relatively easy fight for Canelo. He'll beat him 8-4 or wider or stop him late-ish I feel like.

I agree. Beating Rolls does nothing to get us excited for the for the trilogy. It also doesn't tell us how much he has left. Go beat Andrade and get us excited

This Sat. Will dictate GEE's summer post Rolls fight...
A close fight between Jacobs & Canelo or an upset/injury ect... of some sorts can instantly generate a rematch or a void & leaving Golovkin out of the Sept. Sweepstakes.

Andrade or Saunders (@a Catchweight) has to be plan B for team GEE

So if one champion suffers a razor-thin decision loss to another champion, just how far does he have to "...climb his way back again"?

I disagree, he just needs to beat a top contender is all.

GGG once did beat a top contender in Jacobs, so theres no reason why he cant beat a 2nd top contender. As soon as he beats Derev for instance, then he should get a title shot.

You do not need a belt to challenge for a belt!

Oscar would have to walk away from a table with piles of 'escalator and bonus' money on.

Maybe this is the new Oscar who dorsn't care about money any more ? Maybe not...

I don't think he makes money off sponsorships. Again, I don't know about how sponsorships are handled. Nor is it clear what the promoters role and incentives are in all of this --- lots of unknowns. But it is good cannon fodder for people to post as if they and their lawyers have read the fine print on the contracts.
So, for the most part, Nelo's contract is like any other contract. Paid in advance and now he has to do is fight the fight. PPV %/splits notwithstanding.
