Comments Thread For: Dave Allen vs. David Price Set Down For July 20

Dave Allen will face David Price in a huge domestic Heavyweight showdown on the undercard of Dillian Whyte's clash with unbeaten rival Oscar Rivas at The O2 in London on July 20, live on Sky Sports Box Office. Allen (17-4-2, 14KOs) stopped former WBA World Champion Lucas Browne in three rounds at the Greenwich venue last weekend, flooring the Australian with a crunching body shot to claim a stunning victory in his first ever main event fight.

If Price cannot win this type of domestic tough fight he stands no chance against the elite outside the UK. He seems to be damaged goods. Punchers chance for a few rounds then fades no stamina and the worst heavy chin in division

I will be supporting David Price, but fully understand that this is a big challenge for him. 'Dave Allen has very good endurance and physical durability, but for me? Price has the power, and probably the better offensive ability. I don't expect Dave Allen to set a furious pace, but he can keep his steady workmanship pace up for 12 rounds.

I actually think this fight could last the full 12 rounds, with Allen being dropped multiple times 'If I was 100% confident in Price's endurance, I would pick him to win right away'.

But I guess this is what makes David Price a exciting entity, he has big strengths along with weaknesses.

Rooting for Price. But he'll have to get it done early or he'll gas again.

Price was a decent amateur and should keep Allen on the end of his long jab all night. Unfortunately, he's also dumb, so expect him to gas within 3 rounds and Allen to stop him.

All Allen needs to do is last the first 4 rounds (which he will) and Price should gas.

Backing Allen all the way with this one.
