Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois To Return On July 13 - Joe Joyce Next?

Daniel Dubois claimed yet another title with what many will see as his most risky performance to date. The 21-year-old took on Richard Lartey of Ghana in something of a firefight, exclusively live on BT Sport, at the SSE Arena in Wembley, London.

The only thing that would be guaranteed is it'd be the most boring press conference of all-time.

They confronted each other on BT sports like they were actually secret lovers who don’t want the fight. I also can’t believe BT let Alan Partridge present their cards.

It was sounding like that was happening in July a couple days ago, but in the days since I heard that it doesn't sound like its happening.

Sounds like Joyce is more likely going to fight the Euro champ (believe its the guy with the crazy name who beat Chisora awhile back). I suspect DDD is still going the slow & steady is the pace route cuz he's so young & time is massively on his side. Why rush?

Can you believe Lartey is only 27 years old? Wow!

If he believes that he can do it he should go for it. How old was Tyson when he became a world champion? It's about one's believe on one's ability. Tyson Fury appears to be the only current HW boxer with a believe. Still surprises me that, though unfit, he believed that he would embarrass Wilder and he did it.

I paid attention to Dubois fight yesterday and wow really? This guy is supposed to be the next big thing in the British HW scene? He is like a C level talent lol.

Sorry but Joyce-Dubois isnt some cracking matchup that needs marinating. Joyce can use a big punching bag and Dubois can be just that.

                  This fight should happen next.

Mike Tyson was a force of nature coming up. I don't see that in DDD...or hell ANYONE like I saw it in Mike back in the day.

But sure I get your overall point & with this Joyce thing idek if thats about DDD as much as it is Joyce. Cuz I mean whats the point of this fight for Joyce? Its a move up fight for DDD, but its a move down for Joyce. Fights tend to happen when they make sense for both guys & this fight makes no sense for Joyce. Joyce is a couple notches above DDD in his standing/accomplishments so far in the pro game.

Tyson Fury appears to be the only current HW boxer with a believe. Still surprises me that, though unfit, he believed that he would embarrass Wilder and he did it.
I disagree strongly with this. Not that Tyson Fury believes in himself just that others don't believe in themselves. Tyson is just a guy who's sh^t talking & bragging about himself & willing to take risks in his career that others don't see as good decisions at the time. He's reckless in his confidence I'd argue. And it has paid off so far, but I suspect it won't always pay off.

But more to the point I think all these guys at the top & that are the guys we talk about here believe in themselves they just don't outwardly show it as much in most cases as Fury does. And some guys are more risk/reward oriented with their business decisions in the game.

People are just different with most of that sh^t, but belief in one's self is some super basic sh^t to achieve at a high level in ANYTHING not just boxing.
