Probably not wrong about the first part. Success tends to keep things rolling as is.
As to the second part of what you're saying I agree fighters don't often look at themselves as much when failure comes, but the thing is the boxer can't fire himself. And if some people on your team, namely your trainer most times, isn't getting you into the right form, mentally, physically & strategical on fight night then you need to find someone who can get you in the right form.
And on a more personal level with Abel despite me believing him to be a high level & quality trainer, unlike a lot of people it seems, I think one of his shortcomings is making adaptions in the middle of the fight.
This has been a problem with several of his high level guys in big fights. His guy comes in with one plan & it works or it doesn't. And the fight goes how it goes from then on from Abel's fighters side cuz Abel's fighter won't be making any adjustment nearly ever it seems.
Thats a huge hole in Abel's training/corner game or could just say something about the types of fighters he works with idk, but when there is a constant in a situations I tend to blame that constant on the situation arising over & over.
