  • Comments Thread For: Joyce: An Insult That Hearn Didn't Name Me as Option For Joshua

Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce (8-0, 8 KOs) was very surprised when his name wasn't mentioned among the list of boxers who were in line to face IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Joshua is scheduled to make his United States debut on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Joe needs to pipe down... he's not even well known in the UK.

He's slow, stiff, ponderous and quite frankly not a very good fighter, certainly not as good as some people hype him up to be.

Sit down, stay in your lane and work your way up. AJ would maul you inside of 2 rounds at this stage.

Joyce seems to be under the impression he’s a heavyweight Lomachenko, ready to fight for a world title after less than ten fights.

Work your way up Joe and get in line. 4 or 5 more fights and a standout win would be a start...

It's not a slight on Joyce that he was not an option for the fight at MSG, it's just not that he's not from North America or the Caribbean. Not many in USA would pay to see 2 Brits fight at MSG on DAZN regardless of who they are; if the fight was in the UK then maybe he'd be an option.

I actually like Joe Joyce , you are right though he is ponderous . Nevertheless it didn’t stop me singing his praises and telling a loud mouth American that Ortiz ran from him. That poster told me to get my facts right and return when I know. I was so eager to rub his face in it so I went on google only to see Joyce went quiet when Ortiz called him out. There is nothing worse than being addressed by an arrogant American. Yet I still gave him his respect and didn’t post for 2 days out of a sign of respect. So hearing Joyce open his trap now I’m not interested in what he has to say

Yeah he's not a dislikeable guy but he isn't this up and coming boogeyman that a few say he is.

                I also don't know why he didn't turn professional earlier? He's 33 isn't he?

So does this mean that every heavyweight that was not mentioned by Hearn as a potential opponent is being ducked by AJ?
