    So......did Bob call Haymon yet?

All last week we heard Haymon's name out of Bob's mouth about a much as we heard Crawford's. He kept telling us he's call Al next week. He spent his post fight interview talking more about Haymon and PBC than he did Crawford.

Yet there has been silence from Bob this week.

Five months ago Stephen Espinoza said Bob would do exactly what he did last week. Run his mouth but never call.

Here's the interview from five months ago. It starts at 37:08 and ends at 39:23

    (linked at the start point)

My guest on this podcast is the President of Showtime Sports and Event Programming - Stephen Espinoza. I talked to him about the great 2018 Showtime had; what's coming up in 2019; life after Les Moon

Espinoza: There are some promoters in particular who are very vocal about having tried to make big fights. I go back to my standard rule of thumb. The more people are talking about making fights in public the less they are calling to make fights...So when guys say it's easy to make deals across platforms but when that guy isn't making any calls to make that happen, that's PR spin. They're speaking to an audience of one, the fighter they're trying to keep happy or re-sign.....No ones been approached about Mikey fighting across platforms, or Spence fighting across platforms....The next time someone calls to make a cross platform deal will be the first time.
It's been almost a year & Bob still hasn't called Haymon

"So I really think that I would love to sit with [Spence's manager Al] Haymon and with [Showtime Sports head Stephen] Espinoza and really work this out so it isn't just idle conversation," Arum said.
The potential unification match-up between IBF welterweight champion, Errol Spence (24-0, 21 KOs) and WBO titlist Terence Crawford (33-0, 24 KOs) is one of the very best that can be made in the sport of boxing. After both scored emphatic victories the past couple of weeks, there is now a clamoring for the two to collide.

The only fight from that platform I'm very interested in is Davis vs his guy at 135. Arum will not call after his mouth diarrhea last weekend.

100% with that theory of boxing promotion. The louder guys are about making a fight the less they often actually wanna make it right now. Boxing is a small f#cking world.

There are only a tiny amount of promoters & platforms that hold cards that are worth playing at the highest level of the sport. Everyone gots everyones number. When you realllllllllllly wanna make fights you just call the guy you wanna make a deal with. If you are not doing that you are just trying to build up the fight in the hearts & minds of fans by talking about it in the media all the time.

And EVERYONE in this Spence vs Bud discussion KNOWS this fight isn't worth making right now cuz there are 5 mfers with belts still at the top of the 147lb division. There is a lot of weeding out that needs to be done still before we make what many people, myself included, feel will be the final fight.

Everyone who knows the business that isn't involved in this situation I've heard talk about it says this outright when asked about it. Max had a good IFL video I heard the other day where he talks about it. And I believe Eddie talked about it yesterday while he was talking about the search for a Joshua June 1 opponent as well. Others have said the same sh^t. Arum don't want this fight next, but he's smartly building it up in the hearts & minds of fans by talking about it & rising hell all the f#cking time like he does better than any promoter maybe. Arum isn't pulling the trigger on this fight til its a 1.5M+ PPV.

Arum will keep putting Crawford in fights against guys who don’t demand a large purse while screaming he wants Spence after every fight. The fans will buy it and accuse Spence of ducking. It’s kind of a duck on Crawford’s part for re-signing with TR. If he really anted the fight he would of started his own promotional company.

Why are the media frightened of him? Why is nobody asking if he made that call he was going to make?

Not Crawford. It's more like he's getting paid more than he's worth, while Arum is losing money.

I no longer see anything so compelling about that fight, since I don't care about belts. It's a good fight, not great, or something that must happen. I wasn't THAT impressed with either of their fights.

Maybe I expected too much from them.

Spence vs Porter is happening. All but confirmed by the sound of things.

                    How about Garcia vs Garcia?
