Another thing to consider--are these trainers getting paid pre or post taxes? If GGG pays him after his money is taxed, that means Abel would get 10% of about $55M, or $5.5M.
Where is Abel Sanchez Going to Earn $2M in his Next Six Fights?

Yeah, I mean I don't know how much Canelo pays Reynoso, but they have a different type of relationship. Isn't Reynoso also involved in his management team? But no clue if Canelo will be paying him 10% going forward or if he even has been paying him 10%.Good points. Canelo just signed a $365M deal, anyone think he actually gave his trainer $36M? Doubtful. Pac offered Freddie a flat fee for the Floyd fight, he wasn't going to hand over $15M to do what he normally does for $2M. Floyd was paying Roger and his dad far less than 10% as well.
Abel is old school, but this is par for course once fighters start making big time money. My only thing is, the trainers dollar amount shouldn't be dropping when you make more money. Take away the percentage fees all you want, but don't lessen the pay, that makes you look bad. And really, it doesn't make a whole a lot of sense for you to make more money but start paying your trainer less money than he was earning beforehand.Comment

canelo is very loyal in that regard, whatever pct he had i very much doubt he changed that significantly... the same goes for his relationship with golden boy, he didnt need them coming into dazn, but he made them part of the deal and extended his agreement for them to be part of it... loyalty has paid big time for canelo...Good points. The thing is I don't think it was lowball. I don't think any fighter pays their trainer 10 percent north of $100 million dollar contract. While GGG's offer of 2% was a lowball offer, one has to ask--where is Abel Sanchez going to find more than that elsewhere? In order for Sanchez to earn $2M in the next 6 fights he works, he will need a fighter who is earning at about $3.5M per fight @ 10%. How many fighters who are worth $3.5M per fight right now are ****ing on Abel's door?Comment
