PPVs are going to be difficult to break the million-plus barrier going forward. Too many people are finding ways to stream these fights for free. So long as they continue to showcase mismatches and lousy undercards, PPV numbers are going to be dismal.

        Which PPVs are bombing?

As for how long until they disappear? Probably not for a while. They can make some adjustments to the model, but they will be here some time.

I don't think they will disappear. I just think there is a new normal. The numbers Floyd, ODH, Tyson and Manny got will likely never be seen again. I think going forward you will see 300-750k max.

This is why the DAZN is best. The reality is that ESPN+ and others are stingy. ESPN could easily have charged $20 for the Khan vs Bud fight. ESPN has more than enough cash it’s rather pathetic tbh.

Furthermore, Crawford vs Khan and the odds... I mean had ESPN done $20 for the event they would get so much more respect. Consumers love good deals. Be it cheeseburgers or 40% off New clearance items for like a 4K TV. That’s what DAZN is doing, because in the long run they’ll get back the return.

Paying $80 for a PPV is old technology days. As technology gets better you cant pricetag high premiums like that. Not today’s generation.

But PBC fanboys will say otherwise not even understanding the point to begin with.

I can't understand how they thought charging $70+ for Crawford/Khan was going to sell big numbers, especially when it was going up against a Danny Garcia fight on SHO. Even if they had charged half that, they could have sold a lot more and earned higher purses. I also think that Bob dropped the ball on promoting this one. He should have landed this fight in the U.K. or Dubai where they could capitalize on Khan's fanbase, since Crawford has zero drawing power in the states, especially in NYC. They could have put at least 40K asses in seats in U.K. or Middle East.

Good thinking but I doubt Crawford would travel out for Khan.

I had made a thread that ESPN should charged $14.99 for the fight. A game changer because ESPN doesn’t need the money, they’re ****** rich and have a huge subscription fan base. Subscriptions are the most lucrative assets for retainment. A new person would’ve paid $5 to get the app and then an extra $15 for the fight. This would provide a new sub for a month worth of content to what DAZN is doing.

PBC shills will bring up, “but DAZN doesn’t have any movies” or other obscure nonsensical tangents that have nothing to do with a simple consumer interested paying $20 for the Khan Crawford fight, all while ESPN+ increases its probability that the new Subscriber will pay again the following month.

It’s simple marketing. But ESPN and Top Rank were stingy. 1million buys at $20 is better than $70 brushing people away from boxing.

And for the haters reading this, don’t worry, I always get green K for saying this.

                WAR DAZN

The only PPV that has bombed is Crawford-Khan.

                  Broner-Pac, Wilder-Fury, and Spence-Garcia were all a commercial success.

But this will get swept under the rug, as does everything else that Top Rank does that is horrible.

But anything PBC does, good or bad, is crucified lol. Facts are facts.

I seriously hope PPV's drown and die a fast death, especially because tr and pbc all got these MASSIVE deals but are forcing people to pay for fights that should be on (free) tv.
