Mikey Garcia and Shawn Porter talk about fighting each other next.

Mikey Garcia says that he definitely won't fight at 135 next, and will probably have to vacate his 135 title. He says it's possible he'll fight at 140 next, but most likely he'll return at 147.

He says his goal is to win a world title in a fifth division: 147. So his next fight will probably be at 147, and he hopes it will be against another welterweight champion.



Crawford seems unlikely because that means Mikey will have to deal with Top Rank. Thurman is possible, as is Porter who talked to Mikey about a fight between the two. Porter told Mikey that he deserves another shot at a 147 title.

Freddie Roach also said that he prefers Mikey Garcia over Thurman for Pacquiao, and he said Pacquiao and Mikey could even fight at 140:

Man Mikey Garcia is becoming a horrible disappointment. Haymon is clearly using him to make Mexican paydays vs his fighters that aren't draws. Mikey is destroying his career by being ******,greedy & arrogant. He could rule any division below 140 imho but he doesn't want to stay disciplined on a strict diet regimen,instead hed rather pig out & get paid to get beat by bigger men.

If he became unified at anything below 140 itd make him a much bigger draw than getting a 5th weight class belt thats unrealistic also. Mexicans like successful fighters,not losers who tried hard

Because Thurman Garcia are WWs, as soon as the guy is elite and a full WW he talks catch weights, its been a proven formula for Manny for many years bring guys down or smaller guys up to WW he plays it both ways saying Mannys small when it suits and then he is a full WW when it suits, there are many interviews of Freddie stating Manny is a WW now . Although Mikey at 140 is a good fight and Manny would have to work to make 140.
