I think both points are arguable...He was a marginally better amateur I would say, i haven't seen enough of both to definitely say iq. But Ruiz has faster hands, better work rate, is a natural heavyweight, and his fight against Parker shows he's prob in the tier of fighters below Fury, Wilder and Joshua.

I think Ruiz is the better heavyweight personally.

Give Ortiz the same offer that Miller got and get this done.
Hearn is just using Ortiz name as a smokescreen. So when they finally announce AJ vs Hunter/Ruiz, he can say “well we tried...”

If they were willing to pay Miller 10 million why can’t they match that offer for Ortiz?
AJ-Ortiz is a bigger and better fight, and if AJ could do a real number on Ortiz that would be a massive statement considering how much trouble Ortiz gave Wilder.

Finish it up, Eddie. Then make Hunter vs Chisora.

And get Whyte vs Rivas on DAZN. Thanks.
I like the idea of Chisora-Hunter.
          Good crossroads matchup.

Ruiz would look awful on the scales next to AJ.

Obviously not ideal if he wants to gain traction with casuals

So what? It's the biggest name available.

                  For us as boxing fans.

                  But it’s not about us.

If you’re a promoter you want AJ debuting in America against someone who looks like he’s in shape and or is least physically imposing.

What is Ruiz 6’2 and last I saw built like a pudding.

I do agree with David Haye when he calls out the fat heavyweights on being fat. Those guys don’t work hard enough.

Ruiz is good. But to a casual it’ll look like AJ is picking on a little fat guy

Ruiz is obviously the most known available name. Higher ranked fighters have other fights scheduled or are ducking.

Yes, I `d rather see Fury or Wilder on the first place or Miller, Ortiz, Whyte, Kownacki on second place. But it is not possible.
