To me, it's the ones who constantly claim "cult" or try and group posters together who are the most biased and jaded. They hide behind the "you guys" type phrases. Sadly, you see the inconsistencies in their "view" on boxing based on which fighter a situation is related to.

Fox execs don't want to hear their names being dragged thru the mud by Arum during the lead up to the fight like he did with Showtime execs during the lead up to the May/Pac fights. These companies invest tens of millions into marketing research. They know how to market a fight and it doesn't involve promoters bashing executives.
But Haymon should just "get over it" and give in to the demands of Arum. We been hearing that line all our lives. Nobody holds Arum responsible for his toxic behavior.

Crawford has himself to blame for signing with top rank again. Now he’s hurting for good fights while spence has Thurman,García,Shawn Porter, and PAC to name a few.

Neither Spence nor Crawford have fought any serious names at Welterweight (ie Thurman, Garcia, Porter) so not sure why this fight needs to happen next. Would I like to see it? Of course! But neither guy has been tested at Welterweight yet so I’m ok waiting a bit as long as we get some good fights while we wait.

"Terence Crawford and his promoter Bob Arum made the first move by calling out Errol Spence Jr. inside the Madison Square Garden ring last week after Crawford stopped Amir Khan in six rounds."

Calling out someone is not "calling up someone!"

            This is how Bob operates:

            November 27, 2018
            Ring TV
            Mike Coppinger:

The offer, presented by Moretti during a phone call with Angel: $3 million guaranteed plus upside of the pay-per-view revenue. The plan was for Crawford-Garcia to headline Top Rank’s first PPV show on ESPN. Of course, Garcia is aligned with PBC, meaning he fights exclusively on Showtime/FOX.

“It was a totally professional discussion,” Moretti recalled. “He said he would discuss it with Danny. Never heard back. I appreciate him taking the call. I think that door is always open. Absolutely.”

Moretti says he spoke with Angel two-and-a-half weeks before an April 20 bout with Granados on FOX was announced on November 13. That means it’s likely Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) and Granados already had an agreement in place when Moretti and Angel chatted. Danny didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment from The Ring.

Crawford and Garcia are headed in different directions for now, but Top Rank maintains interest in making the matchup later in 2019; duBoef and Moretti say collaborating with Showtime or FOX on a show isn’t a hurdle.

duBoef says they considered offering the fight to Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter (both of whom outpointed Garcia) but there were obstacles. Thurman hasn’t competed in almost two years due to injuries to his elbow and hand (he returns January 26 against Josesito Lopez); Porter has a mandatory defense lined up vs. Yordenis Ugas on March 9.

“Danny was sitting there and we felt you know what? It’s a really terrific fight,” duBoef told The Ring. “We didn’t want to value the loss. (Garcia’s September loss to Porter) was an entertaining fight; close fight. Garcia has marketing value as it relates to Crawford.”

duBoef and Moretti say the offer was made directly to Angel rather than Al Haymon to ensure the fighter received information about the opportunity. Top Rank chairman and Haymon haven’t done business with each other in years, so they claim there was fear Haymon wouldn’t present such an offer to his fighter.

“I don’t know who to present to with these guys,” duBoef argued. “They say they’re the promoter, they’re not the promoters. They say they’re the agents, they’re not the agents.”

If Angel told Moretti they wanted to discuss the fight further, duBoef says, at that point Top Rank would have reached out to Haymon to try and hammer out the deal. “I just want to make sure these guys get the offer,” he said.

“They know who represents these guys. We’re a management company, we’ve always been a management company,” Tim Smith, vice president of communications for PBC, told The Ring. “Phone numbers haven’t changed.”

That was November! Remember Khan got $5 million, plus upside, and Danny KO'd Khan, and was a former WW Champion, which Khan never was! Now fast forward to 4/20, and Danny has one of his best performances:

            April 22, 2019:

Whichever’s true, a couple hours after Danny Garcia dismantled Adrian Granados on Saturday night, Terence Crawford’s promoter determined that a fight against Garcia later this year wouldn’t be worth their time. Two weeks earlier, Bob Arum indicated to BoxingScene.com that he would again attempt to make a Crawford-Garcia fight if Crawford beat Amir Khan on Saturday night and Garcia defeated Granados...

“You know, a lot of guys that we’re interested in fighting, like Kell Brook, has said that he wanted to fight Terence,” Arum told a group of reporters early Sunday morning. “And that’d be fun. I mean, the other guys that Haymon has, I’m not really interested in. [Shawn] Porter isn’t a real fight for Crawford. And [Danny] Garcia’s not a real fight. [Keith] Thurman isn’t. The fight that’s a real fight is Spence.”

Same Ol' Bob, same Ol' BS! He's using PBC names to build his fights! Like they said, "the phone numbers haven't changed!"

              1. Ellerbe doesn't speak for Spence or Haymon.
              2. Bob still hasn't called and he said he would right after the fight.
              3. Talk is cheap, what has Bob actually done to make this fight or any of the Top Rank vs PBC fights that fans have wanted.
              4. There is a difference between desiring or agreeing with this marination between Crawford/Spence and understanding it from a business perspective and refusing to complain or call either fighter a duck.

Despite everyone knowing Bob's attacks on Haymon & PBC not one person has yet to say Bob should stop this behavior and attempt to build a bridge he burnt. Just this weekend he told people to boycott PBC & played the race card. But boxing fans think this is acceptable behavior and Haymon & Fox executives should be willing to reward his behavior and work with him.

Thurman...Porter...Pac(2 small)..Garcia - all easy fights for Spence - no great fights! Would not pay ppv $ for any of these matchups!! Thurman would run and go into survival mode - boring fight. Porter looked terrible in his last fight and would get dominated and stopped early. Pac is too small for Spence...and Garcia would do the same thing he always does against top competition - retreat/hold on the inside/ throw a few hard looping punches a rd and then cry and complain when he looses another decision in another boring fight. Haymon has avoided matching Spence against his other top ww for this obvious reason.

Al should respond 'sure, we'll accept your offer, but you get Danny not Spence'.

Crawford/Danny would be a real fight, and ice gets broken between Arum and Haymon where winner can move on to winner Thurman, Porter, Spence, whoever on similar terms.

Let Bob be the bad guy to say No.
