I think he deserves the hype because IMO he is a great fighter. I think the ESPN articles about "How do you beat Loma" are a little too much given he did lose.

Arum and his matchmakers didn't realize Loma couldn't handle a tough brawler that made it an ugly match with only 1 pro and 6 quasi pro fights under his belt who was much bigger.

While you can fairly point out Walters was on the shelf for a while and Rigo cam up 2 classes, he absolutely destroyed them.

Walters isn't even worthy a mention. The biggest quitter I've seen since McCall against Lewis. Disgusting.

Rigo was 100 years old in boxing age and was a bantamweight fighting a junior lightweight. Russell, the most decent of the bunch, feels like a century ago.

If guys like dramshow were equal with his praise and criticism across the board (of course controlling for the subtle differences ) then a lot of the responses he gets wouldn't be made.

However, he will justify when guys he likes does the same things as guys he doesn't then he complains when people go at him. Just crazy.

I’m a bruvva and it pains me to say this.. I have a century of hurt in my voice but they taking over. I had no choice but to jump wagon and support these white european fighters. They run this sport and I must humbly bow and respect like I should.

Just like white nationalist aren't gonna come out in public and say they hate black people, same goes for a lot of these Youtube channels like Boxing Ego who clearly have bias agains white fighters but don't come out and say it. You can critizise fighters all you want but it depends how fair that critisism is. Boxing Ego for example picked Rigo to beat Loma despite his weight disavantage. After Loma makes Rigo quit he completely discredits Lomas win because of the weight. You either call this a mismatch from the start and pick Loma or pick Rigo and give Loma credit when rigo gets schooled. You can't do both.

I can understand your frustration. I especially get disgusted when dudes like ghostof want to just pretend 05-13 never happened and posters just started going in on ggg and Loma.

I think there is room to improve things. Like I told chrisjs, just acknowledging the actual history of this site would go a long way to making things better. Then I think there would be more of a willingness to let that crap go and we can focus more on just the boxing.
