#1 Ward initiated the call out not Golovkin. Ward specifically targeted Golovkin.
#2. Golovkin specifically said about Canelo that he would not fight him unless it was at 160. He was the Champion. It's his call. If Canelo wanted the middleweight belt he would have to give in which is exactly what happened.
