Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Amir Khan Quit, He Should Be Honest and Apologize

Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. was shaking his head at last Saturday's outcome in the welterweight contest between Terence Crawford and Amir Khan. Before a crowd of over 14,000 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Crawford retained his WBO welterweight title with a sixth round stoppage of Khan.

Wait a minute, isn't this the same Roy Jones that said he lost the 3rd Tarver fight on purpose cause he didn't want his father getting credit if he won?

Roy's not wrong. Just wish he could find a way to quit himself.

Fans ask more of fighters than any other athlete.
That said, Khan listened to that voice in his head that whispered, "That's enough, quitting after a low blow aint so bad."

Khan should confess, admit his sins, kneel down and apology to his fans, family, society.

He should have been banned from boxing after saying that and forced to refund all the fans.

That said I agree with his take on Khan. Khan simply isn't being honest and is trying to save face but it's coming across poorly. He was discouraged and getting beaten up. His usual "I was outboxing him" excuse was already out the window so he's not using the "I was coming on" excuse.
