The **** thing come up 9 months ago & the last thing I can find about it says he had a disposition conference scheduled for Dec. 3. Then it goes dark in the media & I just glanced at his twitter & IG & seeing nothing about it being dead or alive still.
Seems something is going on court case or not keeping him from fighting or occupied elsewhere anyway.

These are the types of fights Maidana must be looking for at the moment, no chance against any of the top guys at 147 and certainly not at 154. A rematch with Ortiz, a rematch with Broner and if he wins both they could sell him against one of the top guys where he can cash out and retire again.
Hopefully he can make the type of money he needs to make for his family to be well off, he was a tremendous fighter in his day and he deserves it, hopefully he also learnt from his mistakes outside of the ring.

He's 3-3-1 in the last 8 years since the Floyd fight. And looking at his boxrec his W's are over Saul Corral (25-9, 2-2 in his last 4), Gilberto Leon (34-13-2, 2-3 in his last 5) & Manuel Perez (22-10-1, 3-2 in his last 5).
Even newly un-retired freshly un-chubby Marcos merks him easily I feel like.
Hell man wasn't the Marcos fight the "I don't think I should be taking this kind of punishment" fight when Victor was still looking & doing good? This washed Victor hasn't a chance to handle Marcos' viciousness.
Broner vs Ortiz makes more sense to me. I think thats competitive. Or maybe Khan vs Ortiz.

Maidana vs Ortiz was a really great battle. I definitely miss Maidana's all action fights but I don't want to see him come back if he's making the weight again but just going through the motions. I'd rather keep the good memories of his time.
