Yea. And if the money is about the same for Loma & Easter I see him taking the more winnable fight which is Easter Jr. Smart play on his part keeping his cards close to the vest. Can probably squeeze a couple more dollars out

Once people have one belt they seem to want to hold it to ransom, to get as much money as possible. They are all learning from Wilder in a way. Who can blame them, anyone trying to do that shouldn’t be criticised by those that back Wilder.

Exactly. I don't even view it as a business decision, but it will likely be a good one.

I don't see how he's holding it hostage. I can't think of any champ who doesn't go for a light touch in his first defense. Especially coming off of an injury. We've just been spoiled by Loma going for a unification coming off shoulder surgery. Also, like I mentioned before, Easter isn't even a "soft touch" it's a rematch. He beat Easter in their first fight and got robbed on the cards. I think anyone in that situation would try to get that win back before handing their title to Loma.

He can't be said to be ducking Loma yet, because Loma won't be ready to fight until September.

So he wants to fight in the meantime, and there are plenty of variables and factors going into his decision. He wants to get some money, he wants to test his hand out, he doesn't want to lose his belt yet.

Good luck to him. If he can earn some money before he has to hand his belt over the Loma then good on him for doing that. But if he hasn't fought Loma by the end of the year, it is just ducking, and there won't be any excuses then.

Only way I'm calling it a duck is if the time comes, Comney says he "see's something" in Keith Thurman and moves up to 147
