How is Crawford vs Brook a bad fight when...

He took MUCH more punishment vs Spence....He would have taken a big beating from GGG but his corner stepped in before it got too bad. And in the first four rounds that fight was very competitive but Brook was holding his own. The 5th round was the first round where Brook was starting to take a beating and his corner didn't waste time stepping in.

Against Spence, he went 11 rounds and from the 6th or 7th round he took a lot of punishment and hasn't fought at WW since. He said he simply couldn't make weight anymore and went to 154. So what has happened in those two years that he went from no longer being able to make WW to all of a sudden being to make weight comfortably?

GGG broke his eye socket. That constitutes a lot of damage. Brook has said many times since that he struggled making weight for the Spence fight. If its a big enough fight he could possibly make 147 but it would definitely not be ideal.

Sure, breaking his orbital one in that fight was obviously bad, but that happened early in the fight. He didn't take too much punishment in the fight though as it was stopped before it would have gotten terrible for Brook. He broke his other orbital bone against Spence and then proceeded to take more damage for like three more rounds. Brook took a lot more shots from Spence than he did from GGG.

So now it's a double whammy. Not only did GGG break his eye socket, but shortly after Spence broke his other eye socket and proceeded to hand him a beating late in the fight. And then of course he wouldn't have fought at WW for over two years by the time he fights Crawford.

That is what takes the luster away from the fight, but I'm still fine with it. If Brook is able to show even close to what he did against Spence, then that's easily the best opponent Crawford would have fought. I'm just not sure what he will have left at this point. But to out right compare THIS Brook to the version Spence fought is wrong...Just as I pointed your other Khan comparison from three years ago was wrong.

1. DSG
2. Brook
3. Ugas

I mean more realistic than Spence/Porter/Thurman/Pacquiao. Garcia is a guy if I was TR, I would make a big offer in hoping to entice him to take the fight. Him and Crawford fought on the same day and Garcia is without a big opponent next.

Ugas is a guy if you offer him big enough deal I think will go over for Crawford. I mean Diaz/Molina/etc sure did. There are rumors of Ugas/Lipinets which makes little sense to me, but solid if true. But who is to say he won't take a two million offer to fight Crawford or something around that?
