Andre Ward doesn't care for Teo Lopez

That was apparent during the interview during the Lopez fight. I think there is a little jealousy because he felt his fighter fought the better fighter but Teo has been getting more shine lately. When comparing the two fights he was getting frustrated and said they need to continue to educate the boxing fan on what fighters are doing in the ring. I agree with that and that's what he's going to be doing with his new shoe on ESPN plus

But people paying hundreds of dollars for their seats and $75 for PPV don't want to be educated. They want to be entertained. Shakur is gonna end up like Lara & Rigo. Educating fans for 12 rds in an half empty arena if he has that mindset.

I didn't get the sense he didn't like him. I think he just doesn't like that "we're in a knockout universe" or however he called it. Shakur was going for the knockout, throwing good combos - he just couldn't get it. His technique offensively lacks; he was slapping with hooks. They're both big dudes for the weight, Teofimo just knows how to turn shots over.

Ward's an idiot, and his own comments came back to bite him. On one hand he whines about this "knockout universe" thing, when it doesnt favor HIS fighter, but he has no problem whatsoever claiming that Crawford needs to KO Khan to "stay in the conversation".

Fair point. I think he's just acknowledging how past it Amir is and the best fighter in the game should be able to stop a guy that makes that many mistakes. But you can't have it both ways, so he does come off a hypocrite.

We're in an entertainment universe. No knockouts in the Gatti/Ward trilogy. People kept paying for the fights because they were entertained.

But my point is don't complain saying you should be the co-main then go in there and not try to finish the guy. The purpose of a prospect/contender being the co-main is to get him ready to headline his own cards. You have to show the audience why they should buy tickets to your next fight and watch you on TV. Crawford had Benavidez beat going into the 12th his last fight and still went for the kill. Got an ESPN highlight and showed the public why they should attend his next fight and buy his PPV.

I have seen them both fight and I think Lopez is much better than Stevenson who is overrated by many. Lopez will probably be a champion but not by beating Loma. Maybe he will beat a lesser champion. I have doubts that Stevenson can beat any champion.
