Khan quit because even if he was given 5 minutes to recover that low blow might have taken 10% off of his performance for the remainder of the 6 rounds, so khan knew the writing was on wall having being behind on points. Taking low blows like that your not going to get a a second wind that khan needed.

But khan can fight brook now. Khan no longer needs to be afraid of losing to brook. Nobody thinks he can beat brook so khan is under no pressure.
