Kell Brook is already in New York for Crawford-Khan, and he'll be at Madison Square Garden for the fight. He said he wants to fight Crawford. He didn't say he's calling out Khan or the winner, he specifically said that he expects Khan to get "dealt with" by Crawford. He also acknowledged how Crawford is calling out PBC guys but can't get them anytime soon.
I actually see it as the best option for both of them. There's no point in Brook fighting Khan next after he gets stopped by Crawford. Meanwhile, Crawford won't get any PBC fighter in 2019, and Top Rank's next best welterweight is Egidijus Kavaliauskas who was ranked in the top 10 at 147 with a record of 21-0 (17 KO) before getting a draw against "the new" Ray Robinson 3 weeks ago. Now, many consider him a big step down from Khan.
Brook is a name and is Spence's best opponent/win, so I'd like to see how Crawford compares against a common opponent at welterweight. It would be even more interesting if Crawford agreed to move up and fight Brook at 154 to make a statement.
