Byrd might actually work to Jacobs advantage because she has a thing for defense and footwork and trust me Jacobs will be on his bike taking trips in all directions across the ring ha ha keep in mind BobBennet put her in the potential pool of judges for match room and Golden boy to choose this has nothing to do with Oscar picking her already said she’s a ridiculous judge ha ha
She won't be judging this fight. She was part of the large pool of judges to select from, and the article says Jacobs team ruled her out immediately, and his team also objected Don Trella.
Yes normally Bennett provides a pool of judges to the promoters, who can then give an opinion on 1 or more of the judges in the pool if they choose. But there is no requirement for Bennett to agree with the promoters' concerns (Jacobs team can't 'rule her out'), so he may or may not make changes to the list before presenting he final list to the commission.
Interestingly they changed the protocol for Golovkin v Canelo II, where each promoter suggested 5 preferred judges - from that list Bennett narrowed it down to 7 before finally settling on 3 judges to present to the commission.
So Bennett has a lot of final say on who gets put in front of the commission.
After CJ Ross's card in Mayweather/Pac, she was effectively forced into retirement. The general feeling after Byrd's card in GGG/Canelo was :
Given the Ross case, it would be stunning to see Byrd working another high-profile fight in any jurisdiction, according to multiple commissioners.
But Bennett is bringing her back.
Edit: But yes: it would be absulutely stunning if he ended up including Byrd, and one wonders what his game was in including her in the first place given the predictable reactions
If you really think about it....Canelo, even with a judge in his pocket, couldnt win more rounds than Pac....actually he got the most rounds judged in his favor TBE FLOYD DOMINATED HIS COMP
