So I really have no idea about this topic but your saying that some PED drugs are actually better than others, you mean some of those drugs are actually millions? And why would a cyclist do better in a legal battle than a pro boxer, or have better connections? Do the people money wise backing the boxer just not want to throw down as much to keep their investment on the athlete?

In the 90’s, before there was a test developed for EPO, some cyclists used to do exactly that. Buy EPO from dodgy doctors then shoot it up in their hotel room and even on the team bus during stage races (multi day/week events). Drawing their own blood which was chock full of red blood cells, storing it and re-infusing it during stage races was also common.

Then came tests for EPO, and over the last few years the Bio passport. This maps each riders individual blood markers and levels, and any anomalies will show up straight away. The odd cyclist still gets caught, but now cycling is one of the most tested sports in the world. If a rider is leading a 3 week Grand Tour for instance, he will be tested after every single stage. That’s potentially 21 days in a row.

Most other sports drug testing is shabby in comparison.

It's easier because they fight on certain dates of the year like Canelo. They juice in between until they know they're gonna start VADA testing.

That WBC year round stuff is nonsense. I heard a podcast where a guy said he never got tested even once in like 6 months from the WBC

Canelo didn’t create the “steak” excuse. WADA publicly addressed it with their own research for countries abusing hormones in their bovine.

Even the news of Mexican Athletes having tested positive for Clen or NFL athletes having ate contaminated meat in Mexico were all done IN COMPETITION, not 78 days away. This would mean that if VADA or anyone else really wanted to catch Canelo with PEDS you simply do random testing 60 days towards the fight. Canelo is now 365. It’s VADA responsibility to play detective any time they want since they’re the experts. Canelo even looked better in the rematch against GGG and passed all tests. If VADA wanted to protect Canelo in any situation we would’ve never heard of Clenbuterol.

The Alvarez scenario is one of the most weirdest PED scandals around, moreso because it was based on testing further out than other boxer. PEDS benefit you closer to competition as that’s the traditional way to “cheat” not the reverse direction for time

Of course it would, Lucas Browne was busted for the same thing in his system (in fact he had much less in his system) and I think he was banned for 2 years
