They saying they picked Rolls for the Canadian connection??.

Any Canadians on this site heard of him???
None of those guys in my opinion do anything for the top fighters careers or learning process. GGG, Charlo, Mungia, Davis, and others need to be in mouth-watering scintillating fights and instead we get cherry picks. And the future doesnt look bright as long as we have promoters unwilling to work with each other for the most part and the networks don't make it any easier.

If he's getting paid 8 figures to fight these kinda guys, why not? I don't blame him one bit. DAZN is OK with this fight and is willing to pay 10 million or more. I'd never fight a difficult fight for the rest of my life if I had this cozy arrangement.

GGG is a legend who got cheated in both fights with drug cheat Canelo. This will always be remembered even Clenelo nuthuggers know this in their hearts. Even if they rematch we know Clenelo only needs to avoid getting Ko'd to win. Too much corruption in boxing.

this is the second time it has happened, and last time he got stripped

Being a fan of both Golovkin and Canelo for different reasons, at least Canelo rebounded after what was a taxing fight in September with an elevated regional titlist - it was a mismatch for sure, but at least the guy had a decent record and half a belt.

Steve Rolls is ranked by Boxrec all the way down at number 93. He's now suddenly ranked in the top ten by the IBF. He's 35 with a dubious record against no names while holding a fairly good amateur record of about 90 fights mostly wins.
I could accept this level of fighter if Golovkin was coming off a long injury break with significant ring rust, but he isn't.

This time last year he was the unified middleweight champion heading into a fight with late replacement Vanes Martirosyan.
He isn't doing himself any favours by plucking a club fighter out of nowhere - He is giving his detractors an abundance of ammunition to keep up their critical assessment of him which is that he only takes the big fights when there are big money and belts on the line, which is counter to how Golovkin has marketed himself to the fans - that he is a simple, blood and guts warrior who wants to give his fans the best possible fights available.

This fight is going to be a tough, tough sell. The only angle here is the Rocky rags to riches opportunity for Rolls who gets a career-high payday just before his best days are behind him.

                    good post there

I here the toilet flushing on GGG ever making it in the Boxing HOFame.

                      WOW!!!!

Golovkin has a shlt resume, he will not make the HOF based on opposition faced..... and that is the only criteria that should count

but he will likely make the HOF for those 20 " defences "..... even though he defended the WBA junior title..... because the standards in boxing have dropped - and are continuing to drop - considerably.....

" great " (hof) consideration should come down to one thing, and one thing only..... WHO did you beat, with consideration given to when/how.....
