valid point. But Lopez SHOULD get a title shot, he just doesn't deserve an immediate shot at the best in the division.
Furthermore, Loma was already recognized for his achievements on the world stage 3 times. He entered boxing and everyone knew his pedigree. He demanded a title shot early, before he even signed his TR contract.Comment

about his amateur background? This is the PROS.

Yeah, I like him and think he has good potential. He's still very raw though IMO and I just think it's a total mismatch facing the best boxer pound for pound. It's different than Lomachenko fighting Salido and Russell because they weren't as good as what Loma is today and despite people saying amateur doesn't mean anything a 396-1 2x gold medal winner may be slightly better than a failed 1st round Olympian with a 150-20 record.
What I think is that people are acting like they are demanding it and want to see if but expecting/not wanting it to not happen but if it does happen in the next 12-18 months they will be disappointed because Lopez will just be loading up his shots after a round or two and will get completely shut down and schooled and then the usual "Loma cherry picked", "Lopez was too young", "He's not fought anybody credible", He's ducking" etc; We've been here before. Boxing fans are very petty and will never give credit once their mind is made up. They'll drop a fighter the moment he loses but they'll never give credit to one they hate. The hate is stronger than the support. Comment

The issue was that bob wouldn't give Rigo the fight when they were close in weight & bob had to wait it out & have Rigo go up 2 divisions to allow the fight to happen. Look at what he's doing with Teo, Teo said its hard for him to make weight because he's growing & by next year he will go to 140 & now bob is saying maybe by the end of the year cuz he will try to make Teo drop the weight he cant make anymore to make the fight. bob always trys to get an advantage.Last edited by j.razor; 04-16-2019, 02:18 PM.Comment

I actually give him credit for talking like this to Loma, shut mouths don't get fed, also, be careful what you wish for, you just may get it, Loma is as skilled as they getComment

It would surprise me a LOT if Loma went to 130 before Lopez went to 140.
Lopez already acknowledged that his body won't be able to make 135 much longer, and that's not because he's ducking anyone, he's just acknowledging that he's growing physically. He guesstimated March next year might be his last shot at being able to make 135, but that he'd listen to his body, which is the right thing to do.
Meantime Loma is on a mission for the belts, which means Commey later this year, then it all depends what happens with the WBC belt. If Teo manages to get it by March, then Loma v Teo happens at the only time it could happen which is early next year.
If Teo doesn't get the WBC belt, then Loma will be targeting whoever does have it, then two things happen simultaneously:
(a) Loma is unified, and drops to 130 to see what's going on with the belts down there
(b) Teo goes to 140Comment

So why did l0m0 get a shot in his "2nd" pro fight but Teo can't?? Riddle me THAT.Comment
