  • Comments Thread For: Dennis Hogan: Munguia Rematch Is Accepted Straight Away

Nobody outside of his own team gave Dennis Hogan a shot at upsetting Jaime Munguia. Unfortunately for the 34-year old contender, the list of doubters also included the three ringside judges. The visiting boxer from Australia by way of Ireland turned in the best performance of his career, only to fall just short in a controversial majority decision defeat in their DAZN-******ed main event.

During round 2, heard "Sergio the commentator" say that Mungia was a "thinking fighter", and my stomach still hurts from laughing ... a day later.

Munguia needs to go train with the Reynosos ASAP.

Reynosos too deep this season. They gotta go hard for Canelo, Oscar Valdez, King Ry, and Bilal Akkawy. There’s another female boxer too forgot her name.

But Robert Alcazar an OG. Took Valero and young Oscar to places back in the day.

Good shyt run it back. Round by round I scored it a draw. But I wouldn't complain if you had Hogan edging it out. According to compubox the fight ended with total punches landed 122 to 123. only a single punch the difference that's how close this fight was.

He has gotten progressively worse under Alcazar. I said win or lose before the decision was read Munguia has to fire alcazar and get a new trainer that lends to aggressive brawling style. Alcazar is trying to turn Munguia into Oscar De La Hoya and just confusing the kid. He doesn't have Oscar's natural skill set. He's a born brawler try to tweak some things but he should be using his size and strength advantage amd mauling guys ala Margarito or Maidana. Reynoso won't work because he already training canelo and the goal is to have him fight Canelo at some point. I think a guy like Robert Garcia would be perfect for Munguia.

I agree with this. Alcazar is all wrong for this kid. Kid is a pressure fighter, they need to build on those qualities.
