its because lopez is a legit threat in their eyes

and i have no real problem with loma....hes excellent...and i dont think hes trying to avoid it himself....but its not a good look for bob to have a 21 year old hang an L on loma or have loma hang an L on a 21 year old prospect

I don't think Lomachenko think Lopez is a threat. I also don't think Arum is worrying about Lopez beating Lomachenko. Maybe he is more worried about Lomachenko beating Lopez. Arum probably sees a huge potential in Lopez and know what a loss to Lomachenko could do to him. If Lopez keep running his mouth like he has been, gets the fight, and lays an egg, his career might not recover.

To your question as why he's gettting pass that's an easy one. There's obviously a media push to elevate Lomachenko status as a superstar boxer. They speak about him like there's never been boxer like him ever. They had like a 10 minute piece just showing him breathe under water on ESPN before the fight. I'm still trying to figure what that was about. It's not his fault but I think he plays it up to a certain extent. If I had to guess I think that whole thing about him speaking about Lopez like he didn't even know who he is was staged. That was him playing to the cameras. Lomachenko is good guy. I have no doubt about that. However, every once in awhile I see him taking on a certain personality to generate a positive reaction from the fans and the media.

either way...its a risk for TR...if lopez gets whitewashed like you said it might be a long, tough, career recovery
