There is no issue with Lopez calling out Lomachenko and wanting to fight him.

The real issue, is people acting like Lomachenko is obligated to fight Lopez.

He has no top 10 wins. No belts. Nothing. Lomachenko doesn't/shouldn't have to fight a guy who has done nothing. Salido decided to take the fight against Lomachenko. That's on him, he took it for the payday. If he didn't take the fight, nobody would have cared or bashed him for it. It was a champion vs. a prospect.

Not a mandatory, not a fight against a champion/former champion, not an exciting, proven contender.

Mikey Garcia, Commey, Berchelt, Easter Jr. vs Barthelemy winner, hell even Campbell--- they are all proven opponents. Can't believe anyone has the nerve to talk about Lopez when Berchelt is a better option and is also a Top Rank fighter. What a joke.

There is no issue. But unifiication fights trump fighting an unknown prospect.

Lomachenko's career path has been unusual from the get go...but it was his own choice to go after the top guys this early in his career. He rolled the dice and he succeeded. And now he gets the same treatment as the guys who went the traditional way like Floyd or Manny after only 14 fights. Lomachenko is an anomaly. That's why it's so exciting and refreshing to follow his career. He's not like other fighters.

Lopez on the other hand, has chosen the more traditional approach and has been slowly upping his level of competition. Which is fine. But if you choose this way you are expected to follow this path step by step and rightfully so. You can't just jump from level 2 to level 5 because you think you're ready. It doesn't work like that. If Lopez challenged Loma after his (Lopez's) pro debut I would be intrigued and I'd root for him to pull off the upset. Because it's uncommon to see a do that this early in his career.

Lopez made his choices and now he has to live with IT, NO EXCUSES.

There is no issue, there's probably also tons of eastern european and asian unranked rookies who want to fight Loma or other elite fighters. Why would they give Teofimo a chance when he has done nothing for it?

There were probably hundreds of young upcoming fighters with no resume out there wanting to fight Mayweather, did Floyd fight any of them?

Did you ever ask Floyd to fight them?

I would say the answer to both questions is no.

I agree but those fights ain’t happening. Davis would probably fight Loma tomorrow but Floyd and Ellerbe have brainwashed him that he isn’t ready for that step up. I believe he is but from a business standpoint, Floyd doesn’t think the benefits outweigh the risks.

Truth is, Loma is on the downside of his career...and for Bob he isn’t turning out to be the next Pacman like he expected. Shoulder surgery and now a potential broken hand.

I like Loma but I don’t think he’s up there with the ATGs. Only reason being is because at the end of the day he just hasn’t been able to draw people in. He’s not a star and to be honest will just end up like GGG. Someone who did great in the sport, will make the HOF, but not make an impact close to the top 15-20 greatest fighters in history.

The fighters of old fought everyone. Robinson, Leonard, Tyson. Those dudes fought everyone. Title or no title. If they had hype, they fought em. Loma isn’t in a position to capture the masses of people and become someone we will drool over years after he retires. Arum probably thought he would but truth is...Loma needs several GREAT dance partners.

Ryan will have a career like Khan. Davis is literally all greatness in the ring and all a bag of rocks outside of it. Meaning, Mayweather knew he had to leave Arum to blossom. Tank immortalizes Floyd too much to leave him. So although I’m rooting for him...I don’t think he’ll make the right moves till it’s too late. Haney has potential but his lack of power and ring IQ will show as his competition rises.

Lopez HAS to show his greatness if he gets that title shot and subsequently Loma. And if he loses to Loma and falls off the face of the earth, then so be it. There will be a dozen behind him waiting to fill the spot. But what if he pulls it off?

The only difference between Lopez and Davis is one of them Pedraza wasn't afraid to fight. Hell you could offer Pedraza the same amount of money he accepted for the Davis fight to fight Lopez and bet he wouldnt take it.

I get why he doesn't want to go against a prospect that has nothing to really entice him to pick him over anyone else. Now if Top Rank can gather up enough money to sell the fight then I'm sure he would take it.

The thing that I don't really understand is why Lopez's team seem so adamant on making this fight asap. When it's time for your fighter to step up to a pfp guy you want to make sure your guy is in his prime. If I'm Lopez's trainer I'm telling him to go ahead and fight one of the champs at 135 that isn't Loma. Not because there is a lack of confidence but because of the experience and age factor.
Teofimo is a weight bully at 135 and can't handle the cut any longer which is why he's pushing for 140 by year's end (according to him).

He's only calling out Loma for clout because he knows the fight will never happen. If he truly wanted Loma, he'd demand a title fight at 135 to get his name in the actual mix to fight Loma.

The debate doesn't even exist. People like you are just uninformed or plain have an agenda. I wonder which one.

The reason Lomachenko got a title shot in his 2nd pro fight?

Because he used his amateur pedigree as leverage. When he became pro he would only sign with a promoter who would give him a title shot in his first match. No one did, but Bob offered him a title shot in his 2nd fight and that was the best offer he got so he took it.

Is this really so damn hard for people to comprehend?
