Could we have another sub-190 pound heavyweight champion of the world ?

Perhaps someone who is short and is very muscular and has great power at that weight, fighting a swarming/peekaboo style who walks around at like 210+ ?

No, they would be a Cruiserweight.

True, but the money is at heavy.

The only way I can see it if the guy could punch like a mule, and was really quick too. Probably wouldn't be a long reigning champ but could do it like Roy did and get out of dodge before the threats start calling.

Considering most HWs now weigh AT LEAST 220 pounds you are talking about - again at the very least - a 30 pound difference. That's immense. When you factor in Joshua weighed in at 250 pounds vs. Klitschko ... then we're talking about a difference of 70 pounds. That's why fighters around 180 pounds stick to cruiserweight as suggested by another poster above. That level of weight difference is borderline murderous.

Roy Jones was 193 pounds against John Ruiz (it is the most near to 190 in modern era)

Yes but I was talking about under-190, RJJ was 199 in the ring I believe though

The minimum weight for the division was +190lbs when Jones fought. It is +200lbs now.

I doubt it, Usyk walks around at about 215-220 and he's dwarved by Joshua etc.

Under 190, there are MW who walk around 185-190 now so little chance of a HW being able to do it. Would love to see another Rocky Marciano/Dempsey but this is a different age.
