As much as I dislike Andre Ward for being a dirty fighter, he's not a racist. He got approached by LDBC guys before asking why he isn't supporting Black america etc. etc. and then he called them racist for it.

But Andre Ward just dislikes other fighters getting the fame that he never had. He sounds like a straight up hater for it when he criticizes certain fighters like Lomachenko.

yeah I thought it was good. It wasnt like Ward was ****ting on LOMA he was checking the commentators to keep it fair and standard and when he called them out on it they didnt want to push the issue cause they know they dont keep it fair.

The ESPN commentators go way over the top when it comes to Lomachenko. We're talking Jim Lampley over the top. Ward is a good counter balance. I've heard him disagree with the fawning over other fighters as well. He did the same with Ramirez earlier. His analysis was a lot more measured. The others were talking like he's ready to take on the Champions at LHW. Not after one fight with Karpency.

It's funny how the same commentators had Crawford as their #1 even though the network still has Lomachenko. I don't think they would've admitted that if Ward hadn't checked them.

Ward was a great fighter but doesn't like to give credit where it's due a lot of the time.

We all know he got a gift against Kovalev in their first fight too. That man is not undefeated.

He retired because he was petrified of guys like Bivol too.

He is a smug bastard and you can tell in his words and body language anything he says about a good fighter is always tempered by his presumptuous attitude toward his own, ahem, 'accomplishments'.

He was graceless after he got that horrible gift against Kov. Never fought Beterbiev or even Stevenson, avoided Bute (he let Froch do the risk taking there).

Don't like the guy. Gimme a guy like Breazeale or Whyte. They may not be as popular as Ward, but there is zero pretense in them. Ward had a lot of positive PR from his friend Max Kellerman and the other talking heads on that network. Decent, boring fighter, and a bore as a commentator.
