When England was a poor country they put up great fighters. Now, very few are ever English, and most aren't fully serious.

Spend a couple of hours in the council estates/flats in Swinton and you’ll quickly understand why the uk puts out so many boxers. Americans have no idea how poor, rough, violent, destitute much of English urban areas really are....and contrary to popular bigoted opinion, it has nothing to do with “immigrants”

We're not serious about boxing? Yeah we are. Crolla losing to the very best P4P in the world does not indicate this in the same way Jones getting knocked out by much lower level fighters in Tarver and Johnson, or Tyson by Douglas indicates Americans are not serious. Same with the Mexicans.

We compete? Over the last 40 years, Brits have won the majority of the time they fight Americans. So we do more than compete. We have some of the best fighters in the world with much better resumes than most out there.

Who are these "Non English" fighters?

We still have what you would call poor areas. That hasn't changed. It's not like any middle to upper class become fighters. It's always the working class.

When was England poor as well?

I understand that this was a relative mismatch, but the skills that Lomachenko puts on display certainly makes it look like he's going to destroy whoever he gets in the ring with. It's a shame he may not get to 147.

Reference your forum ID as to why your opinion doesn't matter. If he were from the right country you would have his face tattooed all over your body.

He is head and shoulders p4p #1 and fighters like him are really the only reason the generally silly concept of "p4p" even exists.

Tank would've done the same to him.

Who have you had contend for a unified world championship since Sibson and Minter? You had Hatton at 140. Since then, the headliners haven't been English. Fury's Irish, and lives as a Tinker. Everyone else has been Black.

Even the greats of yesteryear were almost never English: Buchanan and Lynch were Scotsmen; Wilde, Farr, and Welsh were Welsh. Jim Driscoll was Irish. Lewis was ***ish.

Fury is not Irish he's English. He was born in England just like his dad was. If you think you're the nationality of a far away relative, then no one is American. You've never had a single champ in history, because native Indians certainly haven't become champs.

You can't be English because of your religion? What??????

If you're born in England, then you're English regardless of your colour. They are a product of their environment that wouldn't exist if they were born in their parents or Grandparents homeland. Why else do you see black Brits and Americans in music, film and sports got to the top which doesn't happen with those who were born in Africa? Do you think Naz would have been as good as he was had he been born in Yemen? He wouldn't have been able to fight for shlt if he was. Everything about him is now English.

Sorry, but you're talking waffle. Try telling Black and Asian people in the UK that they are not British and they'd put you straight. Real quick, because they very much are.
