        Is there anyway boxing can return to what it was? The problem is that the sport today is purely designed to make the promotors and the sanctioning bodies money, so it's not likely they will want to make things how they used to be.

        The main problems are;

        1. No one knows who the champs are - we need one champ per division.

        2. For the most part, the main fights are on PPV which only real die hard boxing fans will watch.

        3. Din King

        4. No more 15 rounder - many great fight potentials shortened.

        5. Too many weight divisions. - Who really cares who the WBU flyweight champ is?

        6. Champs too inactive and fighting bums.

        If we could return to the days of having 15 rounds for the one and only heavyweight championship of the world - between the champ and top contender being shown on national television, we could bring boxing back.

        Is all this going to happen? Hell no! Boxing is too corrupt.

            Not really, accidents and deaths still happen. Boxers know the risks and an extra 3 rounds usually just build on damage that has already been inflicted earlier in the fight.

              its not going to happen there is just way to much money at stake for those in the sport to want to change it.

My grand dad said he foot sick of all the politics in boxing so he just stopped watching but your right he missed out on tyson. He really like louis and Ali and my dad was a mariciano fan but they really prefered the lighter weights.
                  I thought he didnt like louis because he didnt move much. and he never saw tyson fight even once?. I mean how is that posssible?. You would think that the hoopla about tyson would have got your grandfather interested in boxing again?.
