I don't think they would have done pay per view if they didn't have to.
With all the people here saying they won't buy it, this seems like this fight is going to cost the promoters a lot of money.

Maybe they are relying on a Khan fanbase. Honestly, there are some Pakis, Indians, and Bengali's I know who root for him simply because he is one of them. Maybe these casuals will buy.

This model is so hard to justify in today's world.

The PPV model can be justified when the fights are perceived to be competitive. Besides the deluded Khan supporters, nobody thinks this will be competitive.

Give us some good fights and we will pay, keep giving us this garbage and I hope they continue to fail miserably!

It’s a good thing espn plus has other content because if you got this just for boxing it isn’t great. The stream last night had too many commercials and wait times and now a 70 price tag to watch Crawford in addition to the monthly cost?

Who the hell is gonna pay $70 for this garbage?

I would have bought it for $20 tops
I guess the $70 is money they didn't have before. So they get a couple of million total to recoup some of the loss.

If they do it on regular tv is just a straight loss if there aren't heavy sponsors.

Damn, Arum said the promotion has been great and the megaphone of ESPN is going to help get it to the 700k mark. Fair to say he will be very disappointed if it only does 100k buys lol.

Bob originally said this fight does 1 million buys. Fox promoted the hell out of Spence-Garcia and that got to 300k. I'm actually expecting under 100k buys for this.

That one got close to 400k by all reports.

This one gets to 300k and that would be great. That's why I put the over/under at 250k.

Bob did say a million earlier, but just recently like this past Wednesday, he said when the promotion started he expected 350k, but with how well the promotion has gone and with how much DirecTV/DISH have promoted it along with the megaphone that is ESPN, he expects to double that mark.

I am not $70 to see Khan get KOed again. This fight should be on free TV or a five dollar app.

That's what gets me. We get the same s**t in Britain as well - pay a subscription fee and pay for the PPV on top and get adverts the whole way through said PPV. No wonder boxing isn't mainstream any more.

Yeah I think he won't be too happy come next week when it bombs.

Crawford is a great fighter but who is paying to see him fight a washed up chinny has been.

Give us a good fight worthy of our money and we would all buy it I'm sure.

Fk these promoters trying to rob us.
