Fight should go like this -

    Other champs
    Highest ranking non champ
    Mandos

    In a perfect world.

If fighters were to have 5+ fights a year, they can throw in a gimmie bit with these guys averaging 2 fights a year, Larry’s idea should be the way to go. It’s bullsht for the sport and the fans how these champs get up twice a year without having to fight the best.

          Sometimes it happens.

Definitely not often enough. Like all sports, boxing is a business (I don't think there's a pro athlete that makes less than a pro boxer). A boxer has to maximize every chance they get.

Without calling a fighter a ''coward'', which makes more sense $$$$ wise -

a 50-50 fight with dangerous opponent or a push over for the same money ?

If a guy is smart, he'd do the push over 1st knowing that dangerous guy, and that money, will still be there (AJ and Wilder situation). Keep that title for one more fight.

You can't fight 5x a year nowadays simply because there aren't enough legit guys to go around. Also, you have to consider bickering promoters and networks.

6wk camp/promo tour, fight, recovery time = 4 months minimum.

If a guy takes on 4 no hopers and 1 legit guy, 5x a year is possible. But who wants to see mismatches ?!?!? They serve no purpose other than a bum getting a payday. They have to eat too, I guess.

they should all fight shot fighters like gamboa or small fighters like mares. just for example pretending there was a 130 pound champ out there trying to do that

                The crazy money
                Battle of networks
                The marinating
And personally I think it’ll get worse
I get the business but in reality theirs three groups who monopolizing the game
Remember simpler time# when their was Shaw , Goosen etc etc getting their fighters the best fight they could
Less about promoters or networks and more about boxing

I'd like to see the sanctioning bodies force champions to fight a guy in the top 10 of their rankings, rather than the top 15

Everyone wants the bigger piece of the pie. Fighters especially. When you reach a certain level, you become more aware of the business side.

Starting up, a guy can be fed 5 bums a year. Then that guy is criticized for having his resume padded. I call it a prospect coming up through the ranks. Some fans are less forgiving.

''Gotta face the best of the best out the gate or he's fake !!!!''

A non negotiable fight schedule among the top 10 should be in place. Just like other sports has a set schedule for their teams/athletes (barring bad weather), so should boxing (barring injuries).

Someone has to be put in charge, globally, to enforce rules and dish out punishments for non compliance. Too many chiefs at the pow wow.

Still, eventually the fights we want get made.
