I find that strange as well. He doesn’t even need to do a mandatory by now? The issue with the WBC is their corruption. When is the last time that belt had a mandatory sanctioned?

Totally agree with you. A lot of these fights doesn’t do it for me too. Unless they are unification or mandatory fights I would rather be fight the bigger available names.

Why does Mikey need to make 135 for the fight to happen? Why can’t Lomachencko fight him at 140, or wherever Mikey is comfortable? I mean, Rigondeaux moved up two divisions to fight him. Why can’t Loma sack up and fight Mikey without using weight excuses?

Based on his statement, he is moreso interested in the WBC belt than fighting Mikey. I also think 135 may be the max weight he can be effective at.

He's got belt at 135 so how else is Loma supposed to be undisputed?

Not to mention Loma wanted it before that and everyone said Mikey should fight Loma before Spence. We all know why the fight didn't happen, it's because Mikey didn't want to make Arum more money after getting fiddled by him and tbf I can respect that.

                  Mikey can make 135.

He fought a title fight at that weight barely 6 months before his recent fight at 147. That's not exactly a lifetime ago. He won't be hurting himself to drop down from 147, because he will only be losing fat. He will return to his best at 135.

Mikey, at 147, was soft and thick through the gut. At 147 he looked like he was terrible. He's not terrible, he was just fighting at 2 divisions higher than he should be.

Mikey can make 135, and it wouldn't even be difficult. He just has to be disciplined, and not stuff his face with pizza. If he is sick of the discipline required at the top of the pile, that's fine. But there is a big difference between can't make the weight and chooses not to make the weight.

Loma should not fight above 135. He barely belongs there as it is. At 135 we would get the best version of Mikey, and a good enough version of Loma.
