Would you say the public is less forgiving when a HW loses compared to lower weights?

    Yes, it's not even debatable. Boxing has always been like that . Earliest bum i remember was Cooney , after his loss to Holmes as the public cried glass jaw bum even though that was one of Holmes toughest fights ever.

    Even dominant era champions like Klitchko a decade undefeated and M.Tyson after his loss to Douglas had got him the overatted label ......anyone knowing the sport knows the answer is yes.

    Most boxing fans hardcore and casual are not very bright however so I give them a pass for not actually knowing what they're talking about unlike this forum bc if you're on here that means your not a casual , your just dumb as the Wilder fan base can relate to this the most., Boxing is never in short supply of morons ..till the day

      that's part of it.

      but there's also just more danger at HW. even the jabs can get you going.

      you're also still dangerous at HW when you're older, small guys are probably at a higher weight than they should be and they are in a division where speed means less than your chin and your power.
