GGG talked for years about unifying but could never do it.
Canelo has GGG’s legacy and his 0 on his mantle already. He’s about to give GGG one last FU by doing what GGG only dreamed of.
Cash Cow Canelo sets the terms. He has nothing to prove against GGG. Only his 12 fans on this board are still crying about the first two fights.
If GGG wants to get anointed with another ass whipping, he’s got to bring a belt to the table. Otherwise he can do what he’s done for the majority of his career and fight a few tomato cans to finish out his career.

We have now reached a point where Canelo and GBP speak and communicate like politicians - avoiding the question by placing the focus AND responsibility on Golovkin for a possible third fight.
Canelo knows he commands the initiative, now marination + belt is required to meet the criteria for his highness Lord Canelo.

It’s demanding, manipulative, condescending, but from a business perspective is pretty damn savvy.

The question is: Is Golovkin still fixated on Canelo? Ultimately, he doesn’t need Alvarez, but he allowed Golden boy to draw him in, waste his time, frustrate him and drag out the last year’s of Golovkin’s physical peak.
For a third fight to be anywhere near 50/50, Next year would have to be the optimum year for Golovkin, Jacobs would hopefully give Canelo a tough fight by going to the body, reminding GGG what he’d forgotten.
It would need to happen outside of Vegas and Golovkin would need to beat Andrade convincingly- which is a helluva lot to ask.

I do think it's funny that a lot of you Floyd fans would never listen to people trying to explain why some of Floyd's Ws were not quite that great, even if the name was great. It's is fair to assess when/what weight you are fighting a guy. But do that for all fighters not just ones you want to dislike.

Vanes' inactivity didn't get him KOed. He looked pretty good, if you keep it real you would agree with that. GGG just did what he always does - if you can't compete with him he gets you the F out of there. Vanes got steamrolled, not outboxed over 12 rounds. Not fighting well for 8 rounds then gassing out. Give credit where it is due.

The reality is that DAZN has all but assured that this fight happens next, and what DAZN wants they'll get. Golovkin didn't sign the contract unless he had a guarantee of fighting Canelo after his tune up.
