Before he signed to face Jacobs I said that if he didn't face another beltholder in may then hes straight up ducking Jacobs/Andrade/Charlo,but I was confident that he would because there was no point facing anyone else as hed be forcedvto face them after anyways. Man this is why you're a ******. GGG Dervy would not have happened on May 5th. He would have lost that date. Who knows when that fight would have actually happened, and that would throw the 2nd Canelo fight, which was by far the biggest money and legacy fight for GGG, in limbo as to when it would actually happen.

He didn't need to fight on that date. If he changed the venue , he could have changed the date.
He made a measly $1M for fighting Vanes Martirosyan , which means he would've took home a lot less then that sum.
The fight was a waste of time for everybody involved and it should never have happened , but this is the lengths Gennady will go to in order to avoid quality boxers.

I don't understand why GGG is so keen on fighting Canelo. It's like he doesn't want to move up to 68 and fight a top guy or move down to 54 to fight an elite fighter. Which is surprising for a guy who said "Anybody from 154-168" and then still haven't moved an inch lol
