OK, Crolla is 3rd on boxrec , 4th in the Ring Magazine and the mandatory. Do I think Crolla wins off course not but that's not a bad match up , now it you said it was stopping say a Garcia I'm annoyed .

Basically what fight would Bob have given us given he is the man who dreamed up Fury vs 41st ranked heavyweight Schwartz

The 41st ranked lightweight is Mickey Bay would I rather see that hell no.

The reality is that we were going to get this fight this year regardless. Crolla was the mandatory and Hearn has enough money and influence in this game to push for a purse bid whenever he wants.

did he? i cant remember him winning a clear round. was a domination in both fights by linares..

For me, in their 2nd fight Linares was a clear winner, sure, but 1st fight Crolla acquitted himself well imo without doing enough to win more rounds than Linares but he stopped Perez in their 2nd fight, and as I said earlier he clearly beat current WBO champ Hooker. I know triangular theory doesn't usually work but I thought I'd throw it in there as food for thought. There have been far worse matchups than Crolla vs Loma and AC is one of these guys that epitomises the grass-rooots fighter that might not be blessed with dazzling skills and lights out power but he's knuckled down (especially after a fractured skull) and maxed out his abilities. I have a lot of respect for Anthony.

This fight is a mismatch but it definitely isn't the worst mandatory of all time, not even close. That would have to be Richard Frazier who was Roy Jones's WBC mandatory in 1999. Frazier was a 40 year old, part time police officer who did nothing to earn his shot. At least Crolla is a former titleholder who is ranked as a top 10 LW by every ranking system.
