Comments Thread For: Team Machado: Cancio Rematch Remains First Option

Alberto Explosivo' Machado is not only eager to avenge his lone career defeat, but is willing to return to the scene of the crime in order to accomplish the feat. Talks remain ongoing for the former 130-pound titlist from Puerto Rico to run it back with his conqueror, newly crowned title claimant Andrew Cancio. The rematch-should it happen-will take place June 8 at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif., where Cancio rose from the canvas to stop a weight-drained Machado in four rounds this past February.

Machado really had nothing for Cancio... A rematch could be a huge mistake.

I think he beats Cancio pretty easily. It seems like it was a weight cut issue and if they can resolve that and bring the weight down better this time he'll win.

If he makes weight with no problems this time I see cancio possibly getting stopped.

Had nothing but dropped him?? People could tell Machado was weak and weight drained that night.

cancio is not a good fighter,at all,he was wide open,no defense,i guess machado really was weak that night, but I have a feeling machado doesn't take body shots very good,,,cancio never gave up,and it paid off,,,thats what won it for him too,not giving up more so than his skills,,,problem is if machado wants the rematch and he loses I wonder if he will blame the weight

Machado got exposed there was no talk of being weight drained in the 1st round when he dropped him but then he got his soul taken with a body shot and now the excuses about weight come into play. Just accept the fact that he got out dogged by Cancio and beat up and basically quit from body shots he was getting tagged to the head also just got out worked he was getting beat up by Jezreel Corrales also until he landed that good shot also so it was only a matter of time before he got beat.

De La Hoya boxed the **** out of Trinidad and you know it and Hopkins destroyed him after he couldn't get away with his usual illegal hand wraps.
