The skin will heal, the real damage is the brain damage that you can't see and it's much worse in MMA and boxing with gloves.

People are turned off by the look of their faces but it isn't too bad, nothing that needs stitches I'd think. I feel sorry for their hands/knuckles more than their face.

Gloves in boxing are meant to protect the fighters’ hands, not their brains. Even headgear can’t protect the brain, which is why the International Olympic Committee decided to go without headgear after many years. If anything, punches are fewer and less intense in bare-knuckle because the fighters are smashing their fists repeatedly. Facial tissue may heal after one battering like that; but a few fights with that kind of abuse will leave a person’s face disfigured. I agree on one point, the fighters’ hands probably take the greatest punishment.

At least their dear old moms will still recognise them.

          Who knew?

          ......

Yeah bare knuckle will leave them looking uglier though, that's for sure. Artem Lobov going to lose his beautiful looks, how sad....

I disagree, preferrably you wouldn't have your face broken
