    what a shame for Vargas

He was just brought up to quick. He is 29 years young with 26 wins and 22 KOs, and already has four losses.

He only has 3 losses so far (DLH, Trinidad, Mosley I) but I hear you. It is sad that he is truly 29 year OLD. Management is truly underrated in importance in this sport.

His only 3 losses were to "elite" fighters. Trinidad, Delahoya and Mosely. All 3 fights were close and competitive till the end.

Agreed, time to make up for those loses, he needs a victory tomorrow.

Vargas was brought up fine in my opinion. He speaks well, has never been on the recieving end of a simple one sided beating and hes still fighting strong. Cant step sorward with out taking some risks, especially in this game.

It seems that many boxing fans equate loses as a simply bad thing. 4 or 5 losses on a resume does not spell instant retirement. What if Freddy Pendelton had quit with that frame of mind, he never would have won the lightweight title.

Vargas was brought up in a tough way I will say. But he is an elite fighter and thats what elite fighters do, they fight other top fighters. Or atleast when the have the balls that Fernando does they will.

Bottom line, Fernando has made plenty of money in the game so far and he is still coherent and speaking well. As far as Im concerned that puts him ahead of the game.

I agree, and the bad decision cost Winky a lot of $ and possibly HOF legacy. No elite fighter wanted to face him after seeing he could make you look foolish. If it weren't for Shane's brain lapse/bravery (depending on how you see it), Winky might not be what he is now.

Yes and no. He still is in perfectly fine condition in terms of health, but as a fighter I believe he is a bit shot. I agree with you that just losing doesn't make a fighter get old fast. It is how he loses... and Fernando's first 2 losses were brutal. The Trinidad fight was physically a beating... he was knocked down 5 times before it was stopped. Then factor in the emotional/physical beating he took against DLH combined with the steroid bad publicity. The last Mosley fight I don't believe will have any long term effect on him

nah, he won that fight. A very close fight I might add though. The last 2 rounds won it for Vargas.
