Comments Thread For: Crolla: I've Earned This Shot At Lomachenko, Wasn't Given To Me

Whatever you might think about Anthony Crolla's chances next week, he isn't about to apologize for his mandated shot at Vasiliy Lomachenko. The former WBA world lightweight champion is certain he has "earned" this opportunity to upset the uniquely skilled Ukrainian southpaw. That said, numerous odds-makers have installed Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KOs) as a 100-1 favorite in a 12-round, 135-pound title fight ESPN will televise April 12 from Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Crolla has to land a perfect shot to the liver to beat Loma, and yes it can happen this is boxing.

A pointless exercise. Anthony Crolla is at best European-level. Very limited fighter who won a paper "regular" title off a terrible "champion", and made one defence against an even worse challenger. The fact that Crolla can call himself a "former World champion" epitomizes what is wrong in boxing today with way too many "titles" knocking about. Expect Vasyl Lomachenko to win easily without leaving first gear. Look at it like this; if Crolla fought the 10 opponents Lomachenko has, Crolla would likely be 1-9 or 2-8.

Lomachenko v most boxers is a pointless exercise!
Crolla will lose, but he has earned his shot at the title!

If he doesn’t fight Lomachenko then he’s ducking him, when he does then people slate him for it. Can’t win

I give props to Crolla, because so many other boxers (including world champions) would rather duck Lomachenko when he's still at his best.

It's sad that this mediocre fighter has more courage and desire to face the best than 99% of all the other fighters around.
