Wilders already lost to fury. If he backed himself to win the rematch he would’ve signed for espn.

He’s turned down money to go espn and even bigger to go to dazn for the big fights.

He’s turned down a payday on showtime vs Whyte for twice what he’s getting for the Brezeale fight.

He’s previously turned down Klitschko because he wasn’t ready.

He didn’t want to unify against Parker until after Joshua was committed to doing so.

He didn’t want to unify against Martin until after Joshua was taking him on.

Wilders has 40 odd fights and only two wins of any note to his name. stiverne and Ortiz. Neither have beaten anyone you would consider top10.

He didn’t want to fight Povetkin - to the extent where he was out of country within 18 hours of there being talk of a drug failing - and eventually having to pay back the costs related to Povetkin.

In isolation any of these can be argued on wilders behalf. In combination though it is damning.

Did you ever hear them say, "We don't want $50 mil,
we want $60 mil, $70 mil!"
      That's not greed.
In contrast, Wilder got the flimsiest resume,
only meaningful fight is Ortiz after 40 fights,
ducked non-prime Klitschko, making an average of $1 mil.
Was offered 10x more, plus 3 title shots, yet he turned it all down.
      Greediest B-side in boxing history.

i love the fact that guys keep mentioning the dazn offer. while it seems like a great offer, forward thinkers see right through the limited offer. it was the same amt for each fight. no room for negotiating a better offer if the fight did mega numbers. much like all the men that said floyd was a coward for not accepting the 50 million offer to fight pac. well floyd knew the fight would do sick numbers and 50 million would be a paltry payday so he stuck to his guns and got 260 million and pac got 150 million for the fight. If wilder fought aj and then there was a serious demand for the rematch, dazn wins big not wilder.

In business (which boxing is) saying you have the money gets you sweet FA, you need to show you have it. where was the guarantee of payment, where was the contract, terms and conditions etc etc. To fight AJ Wilder has been offered a $12.5 million flat fee for 1 fight, a 3 fight deal for anywhere between $80-120 million and still he says no. Love or loathe Eddie Hearn he pays big money, has a wealth of top talent earning top dollar, Canelo being the biggest name. So who is ducking and who is full of crap
aj back pedaled from the 50 million offer faster than usain bolt in the 100 meters. if a man ask for a certain amt that should be it. of course it takes time to finalize a fight contract. but it never got that far because aj said SIKE!!! i was just playing.
