Makes sense if he does - at his age making 135 again might take something out of him.

Any reason he wouldn't angle for a direct shot at Ramirez ? Can see the WBC liking the smell of the sanctioning fees from that.

I hear what you're saying but he knew he had no chance against Spence once he started tasting those jabs and Spence controlled range with his feet very well. At that point, Mikey was thinking about his future in the game. I was disappointed as well but it's better to go the distance and not take major damage than go for a knock out and get destroyed by someone much bigger and stronger than you and put the rest of your career at risk. Hopefully for Mikey, if he does go back down 2 weight classes, there are no ill effects because very seldom does a boxer go up in weight, then drop two weight divisions and be the same.

WTF are you talking about? Crawford is at 147. Furthermore, going down 2 weight classes after going up is very dangerous. I don't think you understand how that works.

I'd like to see him stay at 135 but I don't think his body can go from 147 back down to 135 again. I wanted to see him fight Loma over Spence. I don't know how Mikey would do against Prograis and Ramirez at 140.

Yea Mikey didn't want to take many chances after getting hit by some of those power shots. I understand your point, no use in taking excessive damage when you know you're more than likely outmatched in a new weight class. If it had been his natural weight class it would have been a bad look for him not to go all out.

Damn. Not even 140. Guy got sent back two divisions.

                    Not quite the same
                    147-135lbs= 12lbs

                    200-175lbs=25lbs

Not quite, but the results can be very similar! I think the reason he went to 140 and 147, is because he was having difficulties making 135 in the first place!
