Kid is 20 ffs. If he can hang at the top at 20 fair play to him but going from his current opposition to a title holder soon doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you got a highly sellable to the mainstream Justin Bieber looking mfer who's got 15 years of paydays in this game potentially.

Don't wanna have this kid be the next Fernando Vargas putting him in too deep to early.
At 130 Ryan is currently number 1 ranked for WBO waiting on them to mandate that fight with Masayuki Ito. And Golden Boy has Cancio with the WBA belt. Ryan can beat both those guys. Problem is at 135 where all the belts are out of Golden Boy control and there will be politics involved. If they just want him to grab a belt real quick 130 is where it is at. But i agree what's the rush?

He was never close to being knocked out by Morales stop making up shyt. And Morales ain't a bum he had Machado actually crawling on the canvas and holding on for dear life and Machado went on to become a world champ his very next fight. Garcia has never been dropped as a pro or in over 200 amateur fights he was more tired and gassed out in the Morales fight more then anything else. Damn the hate folks have for this kid is real strong. lol

He became stagnant in his improvement his last 2 fights before Golden Boy got him with Reynoso. In just 2 fights Reynose has drastically improved his defense which was his biggest area he needed to work on. He's only had like 4 or 5 months with Reynoso and he's made this fast a impact overall but especially defense. I would give him 1 full year with Reynoso before a title shot. What's the rush he just turned 20. lol He is only going to keep getting better. He has the frame, speed and pop his future is bright. I don't see just 1 world title with his height his upside amd ceiling is numerous titles spanning many weight classes.
True indeed. Plus if he takes an L this early in his career, it could have a serious mental impact on him. Why not wait it out just a bit longer!

You do know Ryan Garcia has already beaten Haney in amateurs right?

Wow, so the titles belong to companies instead of the best fighters. That is terrible.

It sucks but politics determine who gets title shots. In a fair world it shouldn't matter. If you not with the right promoter who controls belts in your weight class you stuck playing the waiting game for your shot.

He was on Bambi legs from a jab go figure. Kid can improve but he would get destroyed by a Mikey Garcia or Lomachenko or even Tank Davis right now.
