Comments Thread For: Canelo: Ryan Garcia is The Best Prospect in Boxing

Rising lightweight star Ryan Garcia (18-0, 14 KOs) of Victorville, Calif. viciously stopped Jose Lopez (20-4-1, 14 KOs) of Carolina, Puerto Rico at the end of two rounds of a scheduled 10-round battle that headlined a stacked night of Golden Boy action. Garcia put Lopez down in the second round, and the Puerto Rican boxer's camp stopped the fight when he returned to the corner.

I really doubt Canelo truly believes that.

Ryan Garcia has looked amazing under Reynoso. You can really see the improvement especially the defense. Reynoso is taking him to that next level he will be world champ very soon.

              I agree

Definitly the best career move for Ryan.

He did alright last night with the opponent he had, I still saw a couple of fundamental mistakes but it looks like he got some of the other bad habits under control. He's far from ready from a title shot against a legit champion, but it looks like he's working on it.

I thought the same thing about Canelo when I first saw him fight at 19 years old but then he improved a lot and became a tremendous fighter so it's doable, but the worrying tving about Ryan is his priviliged situation and background. Canelo was in fact hungry and went through some stuff to get to that point, Ryan never did, that can show in a real tough fight.
